(Mineola, NY) – In the latest step toward modernizing Nassau County’s outdated technology, County Executive Laura Curran today unveiled a redesigned, upgraded Nassau County government website. The last significant upgrade to the County website was in 2014. The new, fresh format will now be much more user-friendly on mobile devices – the most critical reason for the website overhaul. Additional upgrades were made to:
- enhance search functionality,
- expand translation capabilities to 46 languages,
- and improve the vendor registration portal.
“The enhanced website is a one-stop-shop for all Nassau County needs - updated to match the ever-changing ways our residents use technology to access information in the 21st century,” Curran said. “With a new, clean layout, we hope to ensure our residents can easily navigate through the site to access essential County resources. This redesign is another step in the County’s effort to make government more innovative, efficient and available to the people it serves.”

The planning phase for the website redesign and improvements began shortly after the County Executive took office in early 2018. The County’s I.T. specialists collaborated with CivicPlus, an integrated technology platform designed for local government and effective civic management. This essential initiative came at a minimal cost to Nassau County’s taxpayers as much of the work was done in-house by the County’s experienced I.T. team.
“With a relatively small investment of $15,000, we were able to make the crucial upgrades needed to maintain an essential platform and service for Nassau’s residents and expand on our commitment to serving every resident equally regardless of language barriers,” said Curran. “I applaud our I.T. Commissioner Nancy Stanton and her team for their fantastic work and ongoing efforts to ensure our website is up to speed in an ever-evolving environment.”
In addition, later this year, the County will be unveiling a new website for the Parks Department to modernize and enhance capabilities to better manage reservations, leisure passes, events and more.
