STATEMENT FROM LAURA CURRAN ON DELAY OF 9/11 VICTIM COMPENSATION FUND LEGISLATION

STATEMENT FROM NASSAU COUNTY EXECUTIVE LAURA CURRAN ON DELAY OF 9/11 VICTIM COMPENSATION FUND LEGISLATION

MINEOLA – I condemn the actions of Senator Rand Paul. America made a promise to our heroes who responded eighteen years ago when America was attacked.

There should be no more delays. No more amendments. Just pass the “Never Forget the Heroes Act” now.

When someone says they'll "never forget" the brave men and women who serve and protect us in times of peril, they ought to mean it. Officer James Zadroga and now Detective Luis Alvarez - may they rest in peace - put their lives on the line to defend our freedom, they deserve better.

We must honor their actions and all others who responded and pass the bill immediately.
