MINEOLA, NY – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran today announced plans for a Long Island March Against Anti-Semitism on Sunday January 12th that will begin at 3:00 pm at County Seat Drive, Mineola, NY and end at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building at 1550 Franklin Avenue Mineola, NY, followed by brief remarks from religious, community, and government leaders from around Nassau County.
In December, Nassau and Suffolk Counties formed a bi-county coalition that will identify and develop a plan of action to combat and report acts of hate and bias incidents on Long Island. In conjunction with a number of organizations, next week’s march will mark one of the task force’s inaugural initiatives.
“We will be neither silent nor complacent in the face of this horrifying rise in anti-Semitic attacks. Together, Long Islanders of all faiths and backgrounds will march in solidarity with our Jewish community to make clear that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
