(MINEOLA, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) recognized Baldwin community leader Dr. Zodelia Williams during the Nassau County Legislature’s annual Black History Month ceremony on Monday, Feb. 24.

Dr. Williams, affectionately known as Dr. Zoe, is a social worker with the New York City Department of Education and co-leader of the Baldwin-based Girl Scout Troop 2305. In 2018, Dr. Williams launched the 3 D’s Empowerment Center in Baldwin with the mission of empowering youth through programs that promote higher self-esteem, a greater sense of self-worth and an understanding of responsibility.

“Dr. Williams is dedicated to encouraging children and giving them the tools to make their dreams come true. Through her dedication and tireless work, it is clear she is making a difference in the lives of so many,” Legislator Mulé said. “As we continue to celebrate Black History Month and honoring individuals who are making a difference in Nassau County, I’m delighted to recognize Dr. Williams for her hard work and service on behalf of our community’s youth and the leaders of tomorrow.”
