(SYOSSET, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan in partnership with Syosset Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, Syosset Home Depot, Syosset Public Library, Accounting Brew, and Elite Tent & Party Rental held a medical supply drive for Nassau County’s first responders and healthcare professionals on Saturday, March 28.
The COVID -19 pandemic has put a massive strain on medical supplies across the country and for our first responders and medical professionals on the front line, these are lifesaving supplies. Local business owners and resident’s social distanced themselves to line up to donate over a thousand lifesaving medical supplies for hospitals across the county. Supplies included respirators, N95 masks, gloves, goggles, thermometers, disinfectant wipes, gowns, cleaning products, 20 gallons of hand sanitizer, water, disposable masks, shoe covers, and gowns. In addition to donating supplies, residents also included thank you messages as well as inspirational messages on the boxes of supplies.
“Our first responders and medical professionals are putting their lives on the line to save others and we must come together to ensure they have everything they need to protect themselves,” said Legislator Lafazan. “I am truly inspired and moved by the generosity of all the local businesses and residents who supported this supply drive”.
