Legislator Abrahams, ARC Host Virtual Tax Grievance Workshop

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Ahead of a looming deadline for Nassau County homeowners to challenge the assessed value of their homes, Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D – Freeport) and the Assessment Review Commission (ARC) hosted a virtual tax grievance workshop on Thursday, April 22. During the webinar, experts at ARC instructed residents who disagreed with the assessed value of their property how to navigate the grievance process. 

Residents can visit https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/ld1 to watch a playback of the webinar.

“If you disagree with your home’s assessed value, time is running out for you to exercise your right to file a grievance,” Legislator Abrahams said. “I thank the professionals at the Assessment Review Commission for taking the time last night to share their knowledge and walk residents through the grievance process during this informative virtual forum. Don’t wait until the last minute - file your application today and ensure that you don’t miss this important opportunity!”

Nassau property owners have until Friday, April 30 to file grievances with the county's Assessment Review Commission. The previous deadline was March 1 for the 2022-23 assessment roll released at the start of the year.)
