(OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) was part of a bipartisan coalition of her colleagues in government who lent their support to Island Harvest’s inaugural Spring Harvest food drive on Friday, April 30. The regional drive, which included a drop-off location at the Friedberg JCC (pictured above), was devised as a new way to reach supporters and increase donations to address increased rates of hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Faced with a tremendous increase in food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic, Island Harvest redoubled its commitment to securing the necessary resources to continue feeding families throughout our region,” Legislator Mulé said. “We are all so thankful to the volunteers at Island Harvest for organizing this food drive and the communities across Long Island that made it a resounding success.”
