LEGISLATOR RHOADS IS HOSTING A “SHED THE MEDS” DRUG DROP OFF EVENT IN WANTAGH

Wantagh High School – 3297 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh

  

Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads is joining with Legislators John Ferretti and Tom McKevitt, the Nassau County Police Department and the Wantagh School District to host a “Shed the Meds” Drug Take-Back Event in Wantagh so residents can safely dispose of their unwanted, unused and expired medications. Just drive up to the site, drop off your medications and drive away! 

 

Keep medications in original containers and block out your name 

for anonymity. Do not cross out medication information on label.

 

ACCEPTED ITEMS INCLUDE: Prescription medications, prescription patches, over the counter medications, vitamins, sample medications and medications for pets. Illegal narcotics may also be dropped off anonymously, no questions asked.

 

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED INCLUDE: Syringes, sharps, thermometers, aerosol cans, IV bags, ointments, liquid medications, hydrogen peroxide, medications from businesses, chemo drugs and bloody or infectious waste.
