Legislator Debra Mulé, Coral House Host Blood Drive

MULE - Blood Drive Flier

(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - What could possibly make saving three lives in one afternoon even sweeter? Getting Girl Scout cookies for donating blood.

Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) invites residents to donate blood at the Coral House, 70 Milburn Ave., Baldwin, from 1 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021. While supplies last, each donor will receive a free box of cookies as a thank-you for rolling up their sleeves.

Eligible donors must have an ID with a signature or a photo, weigh at least 110 pounds, have had no tattoos in the last 12 months and be ages 16-75 years of age (16-year-old donors must have parental consent. Donors over age 76 must bring a doctor’s note.) O-negative and B-negative donors are especially needed in addition to all other blood types.

Consistent with COVID-19 prevention directives in medical settings, donors must wear a face mask or covering; have their temperature taken before donating; and must be 14 days symptom-free if they have recovered from COVID-19. Individuals who are currently observing self-quarantine restrictions or that have tested positive for COVID-19 or experienced symptoms in the last 14 days are not eligible to donate at this time.

Visit https://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/295638 to schedule a time to donate, or call 1-800-933-BLOOD (25663). Appointments are preferred; walk-ins will be taken as capacity permits. For more information, contact Legislator Mulé’s office at 516-571-6205 or dmule@nassaucountyny.gov.
