(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined with community partners to host Freeport’s 38th annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 2. Legislator Mulé was joined by New York State Assemblywomen Taylor Darling and Judy Griffin, Acting District Attorney Joyce Smith, and an array of community leaders and residents.
Held in thousands of communities each year, National Night Out is a crime prevention and awareness initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” During the afternoon of family-friendly activities and attractions, there was free food, music, giveaways, informational materials, local community vendors and more available for all ages.
“For decades, National Night Out has served as an important and fruitful opportunity to facilitate stronger bonds between law enforcement professionals and the communities they serve,” Legislator Mulé said. “I am thankful to all of my government colleagues and community partners for all they did to make this year’s event successful and enjoyable for everyone.”
