(BALWDIN, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) proudly joined the Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, Aug. 14 as it celebrated its 125th anniversary. That morning, the department held an anniversary drill and New York State Old-Fashioned tournament at the Firemen’s’ Field and Training Center. The department capped off the daylong celebration of this historic milestone with an evening parade and community block party.
Legislator Mulé’s office worked closely with Baldwin Fire Department officials in the months leading up to the anniversary celebration to ensure that the festivities went off without a hitch.
“Milestones such as the Baldwin Fire Department’s 125th anniversary reinforce the gratitude we hold in our hearts for the first responders who give so much to our communities and work so hard to keep us all safe,” Legislator Mulé said. “I was delighted to see the Baldwin community come out to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism that has inspired generation after generation of residents to step up and serve as volunteer firefighters.”
