(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - To help families that are continuing to face financial hardship amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) is hosting his 15th annual back-to-school giveaway on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 in partnership with Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport); TRIMZ Barber Shop and owner Leon Levar Broughton (founder of the Back To School event); Heeling Soles, Inc. and Steve Muir; and Glory House Recovery, Inc. and Terenna Williams.
Students will receive (while supplies last) school supplies, bookbags, vouchers for free haircuts from TRIMZ Barber Shop, sneakers from Heeling Soles and other essentials for successful learning. This event is for students living in Legislative Districts 1 and 5. In accordance with COVID-19 prevention protocols, this year’s giveaway will be conducted as a drive-through event. All participants must pre-register at www.nassaucountyny.gov/LD1.
Sponsors include Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Long Island Laboring Against COVID-19 (LILAC), Girl Pride Int’l, Clarity Surgical, Nassau County Guardians, Krystal Touch, Gio’s Little Angel Day Care, Mercy Medical Center, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Health and Glenda White Hills and Millennium Sistahs.
