Brookside School – 1260 Meadowbrook Rd., North Merrick
Nassau County Legislators Steve Rhoads and Tom McKevitt are joining with the Nassau County Police Department, the Bellmore-Merrick Community Coalition and the Community Parent Center to host a “Shed the Meds” Drug Take-Back Event in North Merrick so residents can safely dispose of their unwanted, unused and expired medications. Just drive up to the site, drop off your medications and drive away!
Keep medications in original containers and block out your name
for anonymity. Do not cross out medication information on label.
ACCEPTED ITEMS INCLUDE: Prescription medications, prescription patches, over the counter medications, vitamins, sample medications and medications for pets. Illegal narcotics may also be dropped off anonymously, no questions asked. Syringes and sharps will be accepted at drop off.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED INCLUDE: Thermometers, IV bags, ointments, liquid medications, chemo drugs and bloody or infectious waste.
