What is the new scofflaw program?
Beginning in March 2012, scofflaw vehicles found parked within the public right of way may have their wheels locked with a boot. If the past-due amounts and $166 booting fee are not paid within 48 hours (excluding weekends), the vehicle may be towed. Generally, the vehicle will be released from boot or impound upon payment of all parking fines, late fees, and booting and/or tow fees associated with the vehicle.
