(FARMINGDALE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined thousands of revelers and his colleagues in government to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during Long Island Pride in Farmingdale on Sunday, June 12. This was the first Long Island Pride Parade since the COVID-19 pandemic and the first time Long Island Pride was held in Farmingdale.

The event attracted dozens of community organizations, elected officials and vendors. Among the honorees were Plainview-Old Bethpage High School Principal James Murray, who was one of the parade’s three Grand Marshals.

“It was truly inspiring to see revelers of all ages celebrating LGBTQ+ community and reaffirming their commitment to the fight for equality that began at Stonewall in 1969,” Legislator Drucker said. “Thank you to David Kilmnick and the LGBT Network organizing today's parade and all you do throughout the year - and a special congratulations to Plainview-Old Bethpage High School Principal James Murray, whose leadership has positively impacted so many lives in our community!”
