Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs recently hosted a hurricane preparedness training event on September 16th at the Jericho Library. The training session was led by the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, while more personal sessions were led by our local Community Emergency Response Team – also known as CERT. The event was attended by residents from all over Legislator Jacobs’ district, including from Hicksville, Plainview, Woodbury and Syosset. Residents were very appreciative of government coming to the people, especially during the heart of hurricane season. This was the second of two emergency preparedness training events hosted by Legislator Jacobs, who was extremely happy to see her community take a proactive approach when it comes to preparing for any sort of disaster – whether it be manmade or natural.
