[ARCHIVED] Legislator Mulé Brings Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (HELP) Event Series to Roosevelt

Mule - HELP in Roosevelt

(ROOSEVELT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) partnered with the Nassau County Department of Assessment to bring the Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (HELP) to the Roosevelt Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 3, delivering personalized service to homeowners seeking assistance with their tax exemptions.

During the event, Department of Assessment staff provided one-on-one assistance with filing for veteran, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, and limited-income disability exemptions. Enhanced STAR applications were also processed for homeowners already enrolled in the STAR program prior to Jan. 2, 2015.

“H.E.L.P. workshops empower homeowners to advocate for themselves and ensure that they are paying only their fair share of taxes – and not a penny more,” Legislator Mulé said. “I am always grateful for the opportunity to support initiatives that make Nassau more affordable for our families, and I am thankful to John McQuade and his entire team for sharing their expertise with our constituents in Roosevelt and all across the County.”

Earlier this year, Legislator Mulé co-sponsored HELP workshops in Freeport, Baldwin and Oceanside. Visit https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/DocumentCenter/View/40586/2024-Workshop-Schedule?bidId= to see a full list of remaining H.E.L.P. workshops across Nassau County.
