(OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the Oceanside community and her colleagues in government at Mt. Sinai South Nassau Hospital on Thursday, May 1 to celebrate the grand opening of the Fennessy Family Emergency Department following a $50 million renovation. Featuring 54 private exam rooms, a new triage space and separate areas for behavioral health and pediatric patients, the emergency department bears the name of longtime hospital benefactor Joseph Fennessy, who previously served as the hospital’s board chairman at time the renovation was authorized.
“Mount Sinai South Nassau delivers vital emergency care for Sixth District communities, and the opening of the Fennessy emergency department ensures that exemplary services will continue to be available in critical moments,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “Congratulations to everyone who played a part in reaching this major milestone!”
