WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is once again proudly supporting the Plainview-Old Bethpage community’s 21st annual Relay for Life, which is set to step off on Saturday, June 14.
During the daylong event at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School track, participants celebrate cancer survivors, remember all who have been lost, and recommit to fighting back against the disease as a community. Participants gather pledges and sell luminaria to raise funds in support of the American Cancer Society. To help Relayers keep their energy up, various performances and other fun side events are scheduled throughout the event.
“As a lifelong Plainview resident, my hometown’s eagerness to join the fight for a great cause has always filled me with great pride, and their generosity of spirit is a major reason why Relay for Life has been so successful in our community for more than two decades,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I am looking forward to once again walking with my neighbors as part of a nationwide mission to end the scourge of cancer – an insidious and devastating disease that sadly has touched almost all of our lives.”
