(GARDEN CITY, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) honored District 16 students who earned Jewish Community Relations Council LI’s (JCRC-LI) Students Building Bridges awards during the Nassau County Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration event at Adelphi University on Thursday, May 15.

The Students Building Bridges Award recognizes students who actively work to build a more inclusive, compassionate, and civically engaged community. It celebrates individuals who demonstrate a commitment to fostering positive relationships and bridging divides, often with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and civic engagement.

Joined by Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) Deputy Minority Leader Drucker honored Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School students Eden Klonsky and Naomi Schlank, and Syosset High School student Nikhil Shah for their exemplary work in the pursuit of a more civil society.

“The Building Bridges award recognizes the best and the brightest of Nassau County’s young leaders, whose voices are incredibly important to our urgent efforts unite us behind the work of eradicating antisemitism in our society,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Meeting these honorees fills my heart with optimism for a better and more humane future, and I thank Mindy Perlmutter, Robyn Berman and the entire team at JCRC-LI for their leadership in this endeavor.”
