WHAT - Equip yourself with the knowledge that may one day empower you to save a person’s life by joining Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport), the Freeport Fire Department, and CN Guidance & Counseling Services for a Narcan training session on Monday, March 9.
From 7 – 8 p.m., participants will learn how to spot the signs of an opiate overdose, be shown how to administer intranasal Naloxone to reverse an overdose and learn about new approaches to treating addiction. Each participant will receive a free Narcan kit upon completion of the training.
“Narcan is a proven, effective, and accessible tool that equips us to reverse overdoses and give individuals who are struggling with addiction another chance at life and long term, sustainable recovery,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I thank our partners at CN Guidance and the Freeport Fire Department for making this possible, and I encourage everyone to join us and gain knowledge that will help save lives.”
The Freeport FD training is part of an eight-event, island wide series. All are free to attend and open to ages 18+; participants ages 16–17 are welcome with a parent or legal guardian present. For additional details, contact Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé’s office at 516-571-6206 or dmule@nassaucountyny.gov.
