[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATOR MACKENZIE ANNOUNCES NEW POTHOLE REPAIR INITIATIVE

Nassau County Legislator Donald MacKenzie is pleased to announce a new, aggressive plan to repair potholes in Nassau County.

Nassau County Legislator Donald MacKenzie is pleased to announce a new, aggressive plan to repair potholes in Nassau County. Under the new plan, municipalities will share reported pothole complaints in “real-time” so that highway crews can be dispatched to address road conditions with urgency.

“Potholes can not only damage cars, but can create a safety hazard as well,” said Legislator MacKenzie. “I am pleased that this county wide partnership will create a safer environment for our drivers.”

Nassau County usually repairs potholes on County roadways within 24 hours of a report. In addition, County Executive Edward Mangano has announced that Nassau is launching a Saturday Pothole Repair Patrol to enhance and expedite the repair process. All residents are encouraged to report a pothole by calling (516) 571-6900 or using the Nassau Now application on your smartphone or mobile device. The app will enable a photograph to be taken of the area and sent to the County with the GPS location.
