On Monday, April 13th, the Nassau County Legislature held its annual awards ceremony recognizing the accomplishments of our local Intel Finalists and Semi-Finalists. Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) had the pleasure of honoring students from each of the school districts she represents. In total there are 3 Finalists and 8 Semi-Finalists in Legislator Jacob’s district. From Jericho Senior High School, Steve Zheng is a Semi-Finalist in the Environmental Science category, Ien Li is a Finalist in the Behavioral and Social Sciences category, and Crystal Zheng is a Finalist in the Biochemistry category. “These kids are an absolute inspiration to me. It should not come as a surprise anymore, but every year I am blown away by the work our students are doing. Most importantly, they are our leaders of tomorrow, which makes me very optimistic about our country’s future,” Jacobs said.
