[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATOR MacKENZIE HONORS 2014 TRAILBLAZER IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM

Nassau County Legislator Donald MacKenzie recently named Catherine Meringolo Rapelje, Trustee for the Village of Bayville, as one of the Nassau County Legislature’s 2014 “Women: Trailblazer in the New Millennium” honorees.

“Cathy is an excellent example of a woman dedicated to the service of her community. I am very proud to be here presenting this award to a more than deserving recipient,” said Legislator MacKenzie.

Cathy was raised in Bayville, and has lived there with her husband and children for over 20 years. She has been closely involved with many community organizations including the Oak Neck Athletic Council, the Falcon Pride Booster Club, the Village of Bayville 90th Anniversary Committee, the Bayville Fire Company’s Haunted Firehouse Committee, the St. Rocco’s Italian Festival, and Saint Gertrude’s Church. She has spent countless hours working on various projects to help these organizations.

Cathy currently works as a Research Coordinator, Core Facilities Manager and Laboratory Safety Officer for The Population Council at their Center for Biomedical Research located at the Rockefeller University in Manhattan.
