[ARCHIVED] Curran Announces Partnership with Long Island Cares to Provide Food Assistance to Those in Need

UNIONDALE – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran today announced a partnership between Nassau County and Long Island Cares, Inc., The Harry Chapin Food Bank to provide emergency food to County residents experiencing food insecurity. Long Island Cares, a comprehensive hunger assistance organization, will distribute food products through their Mobile Pantry at the Nassau County Department of Social Services at 60 Charles Lindbergh Blvd, Uniondale NY, 11553 on May 6th 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and May 24th 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.


“For so many families, putting food on the table every day can be a challenge,” said County Executive Laura Curran. “As County Executive, I’m always looking for partnerships the County can leverage to help our residents. I’m grateful to Long Island Cares for the vital work they do to serve the most vulnerable among us.”


“Long Island Cares is excited to be partnering with the Nassau County Department of Social Services by having our Mobile Pantry onsite at their Uniondale offices on May 6 and 24 to provide emergency food and other products, and information to assist Nassau County residents experiencing hunger and food insecurity,” said Paule T. Pachter, CEO of Long Island Cares. “The Department of Social Services are active partners with the Long Island Regional Food Bank in supporting individuals and families in need, and we look forward to bringing our services directly to the people already being assisted by DSS and their wonderful staff.”
