MINEOLA, NY – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran was joined today by the County Board of Elections and state and county elected officials to remind residents of opportunities to vote early beginning Saturday October 26th through Sunday November 3rd. An iPad demonstration of the early voting system followed the press conference.

Voters in Nassau County will be able to vote at any one of the 15 different locations designated across the County. As WNYC reported earlier this year, Nassau County is leading the way when it comes to early voting. In March, County Executive Curran helped lead the charge for expanded access to voting locations across the county. County Executive Curran also worked with the County Legislature to secure $3.7 million in funding for early voting expansion.

Information on polling sites and locations can be found here or at www.nassauvotes.org.

“Voting rights are the foundation of our democracy, and in Nassau County, we’ve made good on our promise to make it easier – not harder – for voters to make their voices heard. If you’re a voter in Nassau County, you’ll be able to cast your ballot early at any one of fifteen designated locations,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

“There is nothing more important than the right to vote, and now it is easier than ever. I encourage everyone to make a plan to head to one of the early voting locations over this historic 9 day period and exercise their right to vote!” said James Scheuerman, Democratic Commissioner of Nassau County Board of Elections.
