Lafazan - Ribbon Cutting 2

(SYOSSET, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Josh Lafazan (Woodbury) joined the Syosset Central School District community to celebrate the completion of two new tennis courts at Syosset High School during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 17.

He joined Syosset School District leaders, including Syosset Board of Education Trustees Tracy Frankel, Carol Cheng and Susan Parker; Superintendent Dr. Thomas Rogers; Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation Director Drew Cronin; and members and coaches of the Syosset Braves tennis team for the ceremony. Legislator Lafazan secured a $250,000 Community Revitalization Program (CRP) grant for the new tennis courts.

“We have exceptional coaches and the most impressive student-athletes here in Syosset, and now we are so excited to be providing them with facilities to match their level of excellence,” Board of Education President Tracy Frankel said. “On behalf of the Board of Education and the District, I would like to extend my gratitude to the community and Legislator Lafazan for their support of this project.”

“Through this investment in our school district infrastructure, we are not only providing safe facilities for student athletes across Nassau County, we are creating a forum for our neighbors to build new relationships through the sport of tennis,” Legislator Lafazan said. “I’m thrilled that this project has been completed and I thank my colleagues in the Legislature and partners at the Syosset Central School District for bringing this project to fruition.”
