[ARCHIVED] LEGISLATOR FORD ANNOUNCES CRP MONEY FOR COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENTS IN DISTRICT 4

FORD ANNOUNCES CRP MONEY

Alternative Deputy Presiding Officer Denise Ford, and the Nassau County Legislature, voted to fund numerous Inter-Municipal Agreements (IMAs) and Community Revitalization Projects (CRPs) in Legislative District 4. These projects include an Audio Induction Loop System for the Island Park Public Library, a new ambulance for the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department, and security cameras for the Village of Lawrence.

The Audio Induction Loop, also called a hearing loop, would be added to the Island Park Public Library’s Community Room, and would aid hearing-impaired residents. The ambulance for the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department will help the volunteer fire department provide services and respond to emergencies in the Lido Beach and Point Lookout areas. The security cameras for the Village of Lawrence will help keep the parking lot of their village hall safe and provide security to the residents in the area.

“I was happy to vote to approve money for these community projects today, “Alternative Deputy Presiding Officer Ford said. “These projects will help improve our community in the 4th Legislative District, and greatly improve quality of life. The hearing loop for the Island Park Public Library will increase the ability of people with hearing loss to use public services, the ambulance will aide in the ability of the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department medics to respond to a medical emergency, and the security cameras will help keep public areas safe for residents. I look forward to seeing these projects started.”
