Red Mass Ceremony

Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell recently attended the Annual Red Mass ceremony celebrated by the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Nassau County. The Red Mass is given by the Catholic Church for judges, attorneys, law school professors, students and government officials to request guidance from the Holy Spirit for all those who seek justice. The Red Mass was first celebrated in the 13th century and has been held in Nassau County since 1958. At the reception following the mass this year’s distinguished honorees were Laura A. Casell, Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Rockville Centre and the Honorable C. Raymond Radigan, K.M., retired Justice of Nassau County Surrogate’s Court, and currently Of Counsel, Ruskin Moscou Falcou Faltischek, P.C.
