Statement from Legislator Mulé – Ranking Member of Veterans and Seniors Committee – on Unanimous Approval of 100% Property Tax Exemption For Fully Disabled Veterans

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport), ranking member of the Legislature’s Veterans and Seniors committee, proudly joined her legislative colleagues in a unanimous Monday, June 29 vote to fully exempt the primary residences of honorably discharged, 100 percent disabled veterans from Nassau County property taxes.

“We are blessed that Nassau County is home to one of America’s largest populations of veterans, and that is in large part because of how the County and our partners at all levels of government prioritize initiatives that seek to address their physical, psychological, and financial needs,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “Today’s unanimous vote is a reaffirmation of our commitment to our disabled veterans – each of whom has given so much in the service of our nation. I was proud to vote in favor, and I thank New York State for creating a pathway to providing full property tax exemptions for these great patriots.”
