(NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.) – Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) met some of her district’s youngest residents during a May 15th visit to Parkville School in New Hyde Park, where she had the privilege of reading to a class of eager Kindergartners. During her visit, Legislator Birnbaum also congratulated Principal Debra Shalom for 19 years of service to the school and wished her well on her upcoming retirement.
“Dedicated educators play a critical role in making Long Island’s public schools some of the best in the nation,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “It has been a privilege watching Debra Shalom work on behalf of the youngest pupils served by the Great Neck Public Schools, and I congratulate her as she begins the next chapter of her life.”
