[ARCHIVED] County Executive Curran To Sign Legislator Joshua Lafazan’s “Dignity for Our Heroes” Initiative Into

WHAT: On Monday, April 29, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran will sign into law two pieces of legislation initiated by Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) that comprise his “Dignity for our Heroes” initiatives. The bills, which were unanimously ratified by the Nassau County Legislature on Monday, April 22, will create the Nassau County Commission on Ending Veteran Homelessness and update the County’s Human Rights Law to explicitly prohibit discrimination against veterans in housing and employment.


WHO: Legislator Lafazan and County Executive Curran will be joined by members of the Nassau County Legislature, Syosset VFW Post 6394, AMVETS North Shore Veterans Memorial Post 21 (Oyster Bay), Robert H. Spittel Post 1285 American Legion (Bayville), American Legion Post 336 (Glen Head), Nassau County Veterans Advisory Committee, and Nassau County Police Veterans Associations
