[ARCHIVED] Lafazan Partners with the Integrated Medical Foundation To Provide Free Prostate Screenings

WHAT:

Nassau County Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan (Woodbury), in partnership with the Integrated Medical Foundation, is hosting free prostate screenings in Jericho for men who have not previously been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

According to the Integrated Medical Foundation, one out of nine American men will have prostate cancer in their lifetime. Statistics show that regular screenings can lead to early detection of prostate cancer. Screenings have decreased the prostate cancer death rate by nearly 40 percent since they began 20 years ago.

Appointments are required for prostate screenings. Attendees must bring a photo ID that contains an address, have not previously been diagnosed with prostate cancer and be over the age of 45. Each screening will require a PSA blood test. Please bring a self-addressed stamped envelope.
