The County Clerk’s Office, which traces its origins to the days of the Middle Ages, is a State constitutional office, and the Clerk is the Clerk of the Supreme and County Courts. The office is responsible for documenting land ownership and maintaining court files. In addition, we process business names, veterans’ exemptions, notaries and we are recognized by the U.S. Dept. of State as an official Passport Acceptance Center.
Since taking office in 2006, I have been committed to end the backlog and make this office current in all of its statutory obligations. Today, land records are recorded, scanned and provided to the public for viewing within days.
As we look ahead, new and more improved services will be added to better serve you.
