(LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (D – Woodbury) congratulated Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year honoree John Cruz during the organization’s annual Donor Recognition Reception on Wednesday, April 19.
Cruz, a senior at Locust Valley High School, became a member of the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club in 2010. Upon starting high school, John joined the Keystone Club and embarked upon many community service initiatives. He was later elected Treasurer of the club, and he credits the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club staff for helping him grow into a responsible young man.
During the reception, Legislator Lafazan presented Cruz, a senior at Locust Valley High School, with a Nassau County Legislature Citation in recognition of his dedication to community service.
“By fulfilling a commitment to helping others and giving back to his community, John Cruz has excelled as a young leader and demonstrated how you can make a positive impact in your community at any age,” Legislator Lafazan said. “It was a pleasure to recognize his accomplishments and thank the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club for their tireless efforts to enrich the lives of the youth they so diligently serve.”
