Legislator Laura M. Schaefer Invites You To Attend A
CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS TRAINING PROGRAM

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2014 - 7:00 P.M.
~ RUSHMORE AVENUE SCHOOL ~
251 Rushmore Ave., Carle Place, NY 11514

Legislator Laura Schaefer and co-sponsors Senator Jack Martins and Assemblyman Ed Ra invite you to participate in the New York State Citizen Preparedness Program which will help give residents the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster.

The Nassau County Office of Emergency Management’s website offers general hurricane preparedness information plus links to emergency shelter locations, evacuation routes for Nassau residents, survival kit essentials, ways to protect pets and animals, disaster checklists to keep you prepared, disaster checklists for those with special needs, and emergency contact numbers.

Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. A key component of this training is distribution of free NYS Disaster Preparedness Kits to all participants (one per family) containing key items to assist individuals in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. The state training and kits will help New Yorkers be the most-trained and best-prepared citizens in the country.

All participants must register in advance at www.prepare.ny.gov
Call Legislator Schaefer’s office at 516-571-6214 for additional information.
