Presiding Officer Norma L. Gonsalves attended Boy Scout Troop 123’s Eagle Court of Honor for Eagle Scout Brian Harding at the Merrick Golf Clubhouse. Brian is a resident of North Merrick.
For his project, Brian renovated an unused classroom at Sacred Heart Church, which can now be used for Church and community activities. Brian’s project took 40 hours and 35 volunteers to complete.
“Brian has shown tremendous dedication and leadership skills to attain the rank of Eagle Scout,” said Presiding Officer Gonsalves. “His project of renovating an old classroom for community activities is truly a testament to the Scouting pledge “Giving service to others.”
