Legislator Vincent Muscarella was honored to present Theresa Whalen with the Women’s Trailblazer Award for the 8th Legislative District at the Nassau County Legislature’s 20th Annual Women’s Trailblazer Awards Ceremony, held on March 12, 2018.
Theresa Whalen was honored as a well-known and highly respected leader throughout Floral Park and Nassau County. Her impressive leadership record in the business community and civic and service organizations has included presidencies of The Sterling Sign Company, Floral Park Chamber of Commerce, Floral Park Lions Club, Sewanhaka Central Council of PTAs, Floral Park Memorial High School PTSA, and the Floral Park American Legion Auxiliary.
Theresa has been a member of the Floral Park Lions Club since November of 1999 where she instituted the District Lions Clubs Annual Just 4 Women Expo. She also chartered the Leos Club of Floral Park Memorial High School in 2015 and has sponsored 23 new Lions. She will also serve as District Governor of Nassau County and Bermuda beginning July 3, 2018.
