Please join Nassau County Legislator John R. Ferretti, Town of Hempstead Councilman Dennis Dunne, Sr., Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin, NYS Assemblyman John Mikulin and the Nassau County Police Department to discuss bicycle safety and appropriate bike riding behavior. Parents and children are invited for a short presentation followed by a Q&A to help residents improve bike safety and report reckless bicycle riders.
At the forum, residents will learn more about Legislator Ferretti’s proposed legislation to raise the age of minors required to wear a bike helmet and to create a misdemeanor offense to impose a $100 fine on the parents of children over the age of 12 who engage in dangerous cycling behavior.
