Legislator Michael Giangregorio, in partnership with County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Nassau County Office of Crime Victim Advocate, Nassau County Office for the Aging, Nassau County Police Department Community Affairs and the Family & Children’s Association, is hosting two free scam awareness presentations to help residents identify scams, learn how to report one and how to recover if they ever become a scam victim. The program includes important information on topics such as:
- What is Financial Abuse and Exploitation
- Who is targeted and why
- How financial abuse and exploitation occur
- Scams to be aware of
- Possible signs of financial abuse
- Ways to protect yourself
- What to do if you have been a victim
