FREE FLU SHOTS AVAILABLE OCTOBER 15

(Mineola, NY) Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell, in partnership with Northwell Health, is pleased to announce that free flu vaccinations will be available to seniors on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at American Legion Post No. 144, located at 730 Willis Avenue in Williston Park.

The program is being offered directly to seniors close to home and at no out-of-pocket expense. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (516) 571-2661.

Flu vaccination is particularly important for older adults, who face a greater risk of serious complications from influenza. The flu shot can help reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization and may lessen the severity of symptoms for those who do become infected.

County Clerk O’Connell, a registered nurse, encourages residents 60 and over to take advantage of this free program and take an important step toward protecting their health during flu season.

The Nassau County Clerk’s Office extends its appreciation to Northwell Health for generously donating the flu vaccines, and to American Legion Post No. 144 for providing its facility and allowing the event to be held at its Williston Park location. The Clerk’s Office also thanks the Chamber of Commerce of the Willistons for its help and cooperation in making the program available to local seniors.
