LEGISLATOR RHOADS INVITES YOU TO ATTEND SEMINAR ON DRUG ABUSE AND THE TEEN BRAIN

Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads invites you to attend “The Effects of Drug Abuse and the Teen Brain: A Seminar for Parents and Teens,” presented by Dr. Stephen Dewey. Dr. Dewey is the Director of Laboratory for Behavioral & Molecular Neuroimaging at North Shore LIJ’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. The seminar will discuss how drugs work, how they affect the mind and body, why people take them, and the effects of the most abused substances.

“Awareness and knowledge are the first steps in eventually winning this battle,” said Legislator Rhoads. “With a better understanding of how drugs work and why people abuse them, we can help prevent our loved ones from facing tragedy.”

The seminar will take place on February 16th at 7:30 PM at the Brookside School Board Room, located at 1260 Merrick Road, N. Merrick NY 11566. Registration is not mandatory, but suggested.
