MINEOLA, NY –Nassau County Executive Laura Curran today announced the launch of, a website which will provide answers and allow questions regarding the County Executive’s reassessment initiative.

“This new assessment process will bring about many changes and a lot of questions. We are here to provide the answers. We will make every effort to provide full transparency on an interactive website,” said Curran.

The website will offer a complete customer service outreach portal with all the information Nassau’s property owners will need, including options for individuals to look up specific reassessment home values. The website will feature ongoing updates and frequently asked questions. Residents will have the ability to submit questions directly to the Department of Assessment.

In the coming weeks, additional functions will be added, including a feature allowing property owners to schedule appointments at either the Department of Assessment in Mineola or one of four mobile offices. Residents will also be able to access a report generated by Prognose, a program that provides a full picture of a resident’s property assessment, comparable sales in their area and other important information.

The website will be an important resource as Nassau County Assessor David Moog moves to re-staff the Department of Assessment. Over 100 employees were lost when the prior administration froze the roll in 2011.

Nassau County Assessor David Moog has provided the levels of assessment for the tentative roll for tax year 2020/2021. Based on his professional responsibility and expertise, and the results of an expert analysis, he has set the new class one level of assessment at .10 % and has set the levels of assessment for property classes two, three and four at 1 %. This initiative will create an accurate assessment roll for the first time since the roll was frozen.

“This is step one of a new customer-friendly Department of Assessment,” said Curran. “We are staffing up to respond to our residents. And while our telephone system is still being set up, property owners can use this new website. Our residents are the customer, and they will come first.”

Curran continues to encourage residents to make sure their property assessments are accurate. “Property owners will absolutely keep their right to grieve their assessments,” said Curran. “Property owners, however, shouldn’t have to file a claim to be treated fairly. That’s our job. A correct, defensible assessment roll accomplishes that goal.”
