[ARCHIVED] Statement from County Executive Laura Curran on Swastikas Discovered Inside Theodore Roosevelt Park

MINEOLA, NY — “This brazen act of vandalism is despicable, and unfortunately, not an isolated incident. We cannot look away from the fact that bigotry, including anti-Semitism, is on the rise along with other forms of hatred that seek to divide us and turn us against each other. We will not tolerate it in Nassau, and we certainly will not look the other way. We will loudly condemn white supremacy in unequivocal terms so it never knows comfort in our communities. And we will speak out against those who use tools of dehumanization threatening Jews, communities of color, immigrants, Muslims, and other minority groups alike.”
