[ARCHIVED] County Executive Curran Announces Upcoming Vets BBQ, POW-MIA Remembrance Ceremony

EISENHOWER PARK – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran today reminded residents of an upcoming POW-MIA Remembrance Ceremony and invited all Veterans and their families to a BBQ Picnic to be held Thursday, September 19th at Eisenhower Park. The Veterans Services Agency and the Parks Department are hosting the BBQ event rain-or-shine at Field 6A, where there will be free food, beverages, and music.


The POW-MIA Ceremony will be held at 11:00am, followed by the Veterans BBQ from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Residents should RSVP by contacting Casey at (516) 572-0228.


"We will never forget or abandon those who have risked their lives to protect our nation and the freedoms we hold dear" said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. “Next Thursday we will honor those who went missing-in-action or were held as prisoners of war, followed by a free BBQ picnic to support our Vets and their families.”
