[ARCHIVED] Statement from Nassau County Executive Curran on Oceanside Stabbing

MINEOLA, NY – The tragedy that took place in Oceanside has been a shock to our conscience. My heart goes out to the family of Khaseen Morris and all those loved and knew him. Nassau County reached out to the Oceanside School District to ensure they have the mental health resources necessary to support students in need. We have also assigned additional Nassau County PD officers to patrol Oceanside High School and neighboring schools.

I want to plead with all our residents – not just our young people: if you see someone in serious danger, please use your phone to get help – not likes and shares. Our law enforcement and first responders are trained to save lives in dangerous situations, and someone’s life can depend on a matter of seconds. If you see someone whose life is in danger, please call 911.
