[ARCHIVED] YOU CAN LEARN HOW TO SAVE A LIFE! “STOP THE BLEED” PROGRAM

Stop The Bleed

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15th – 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Merrick Jewish Center – 225 Fox Blvd., Merrick

Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads, Councilman Elect Chris Carini and the Merrick-Bellmore Jewish Community Council are sponsoring the “Stop the Bleed” program to teach civilians the skills and basic tools needed to stop uncontrolled bleeding in an emergency situation so they are able to provide immediate aid until first responders arrive to take over the care of an injured person.

A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is vitally important to quickly stop the blood loss. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene.

Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths will occur.

This FREE and CRUCIAL training lasts only one hour and will be provided by certified instructors from Nassau University Medical Center.  Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. To RSVP, please email: info@MBJCCouncil.org
