On the First Day of Early Voting, Legislator Lafazan and Community Organizers Launch Non-Partisan Youth Voting Initiative

 

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – To encourage young Long Islanders to take an active role in the democratic process, Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan (Woodbury) and community organizers will launch a non-partisan youth early voting initiative on Saturday, Oct. 24 - the first day of early voting in Nassau County.

 Representatives from a diverse array of millennial and Gen-Z powered advocacy organizations will join Legislator Lafazan, multimedia personality and Hot 97 Music Director T. T. Torrez in urging young people to take advantage of early-voting opportunities throughout Nassau County.

 Upon the conclusion of Saturday’s press conference, registered Nassau County voters in attendance will be invited to join Legislator Lafazan in casting their ballots at the Nassau County Board of Elections early voting site.

“Young voters are part of the largest, most diverse, and most educated generation in the history of the United States,” Legislator Lafazan said. “Through this nonpartisan initiative, I hope that we will inspire Nassau County’s future leaders to become active participants in civic life at a tremendously pivotal moment in our nation.”

WHO: Nassau County Legislator Lafazan will be joined by Multimedia Personality T.T. Torrez, Minority Millennials, Next Generation Long Island, The Unicorn Network, SUNY Student Assembly, Young Long Island for Justice, and Nassau County Youth Council.
