(GREAT NECK, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) presented the volunteer members of the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company with Nassau County COVID-19 service bars in recognition of their courageous and ongoing response to the pandemic. Legislator Birnbaum made the presentation during a regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Monday, June 7 at the firehouse, which is located at 83 Cutter Mill Road in Great Neck. In addition, Legislator Birnbaum presented Certificates of Recognition to the volunteers who accumulated the largest number of departmental “points” through call responses. She is pictured above with Great Neck Vigilant leaders and members, including, from left: Chief of Department Justin Sachmechi, Justin Rastegar, Fred W. Sager, Logan Dilmanian, Alexandra Yudkovich, Amanda Molina, Daniel Soleimani, Zachary Goldfarb, and Issac Wainston.

“It was a pleasure to join the leaders and members of the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company to extend these tokens of our gratitude for all they have done to serve and protect our community during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “Thank you all for being on the front lines in the response to this once-in-a-century public health emergency - we wish you continued safety and good health in the days ahead.”
