(GREAT NECK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D - Great Neck) proudly joined the Great Neck Alert Fire Company to herald the arrival of their new Tower Ladder 826 truck during a wet-down ceremony that was held at the firehouse on Sunday, June 27. “A courageous and generous spirit is the lifeblood of Long Island’s volunteer fire service, and the Great Neck Alert Fire Company proudly upholds that tradition of selfless service,” Legislator Birnbaum said. “It was a pleasure to welcome the brand-new Tower Ladder 826 into active service and recognize the generations of Great Neck residents who have committed themselves to serving and protecting the community.”
